How to subscribe to a Bosch IoT Suite service

What you will learn

In this tutorial, you will learn how to get your own service instance of the Bosch IoT Suite offering.

At this point, we assume that you are already familiar with our portfolio. Otherwise, feel free to first explore https://bosch-iot-suite.com/ and learn which service is dedicated to which layer of your future IoT application.

This tutorial will take you five to ten minutes.

Sign in at the Bosch IoT Suite

Sign in with your existing Bosch ID by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Bosch IoT Suite.
  2. Click the user account icon .
  3. Click Sign in.
  4. Sign in with your credentials.

Bosch ID

The Bosch ID is provided by a Bosch identity management service. Thus, your can use the same Bosch ID for multiple Bosch applications.

However, in case you have no Bosch ID yet use the button “Sign in for an account” and you will be redirected to another dialog where you create a Bosch ID.

In case this is your very first visit, you will also encounter a dialog, where you can confirm that you have read and agreed to our terms and conditions. Further, as our offer only addresses commercial customers including freelancers and entrepreneurs, you will need to fill in GDPR relevant data. See https://bosch-iot-suite.com/faqs/#dpo.

Select a Bosch IoT Suite service

Decide for one of the Bosch IoT Suite services by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to the home page.
  2. Once you found a service that you are interested in, open its details.
  3. In its description navigate to the service plans, by scrolling down or by using the Service & support plans tab.
  4. At the end of all service plan descriptions, you will find links for triggering a subscription.
    Click Subscribe, e.g. in the row Free $0.00, if you have decided to use the free plan.

Tip: Bosch IoT Device Management

In case you don’t have a clear picture of our offering yet, just try out Bosch IoT Device Management.
This includes access to multiple services, and you can decide later on, which ones you really want to use, and which not.
In case you book the Standard plan, the pricing is purely usage-based, so you will only be accounted for the services you really use.

Continue the subscription

To add a service instance of the selected service to your account, you will need to continue with the following dialog:

  1. Select a service plan, e.g. Free Plan.
  2. Insert a meaningful instance name for your subscription.
  3. Click Subscribe.

Confirm the subscription.

Wait until your subscription is active

In your list of subscriptions, the status for the recently booked package is shown as Pending for a short time.

Upon success you will receive an email with links to your service instance, its “Getting started” instructions and the full documentation.

As soon as the subscription status is shown as Active on the service subscriptions page, you can start using the service.
